The Ignite 25 + 5 represents the 25 most compelling emerging companies in the region + 5 startups to watch. In partnership with the Spokane Journal of Business, Ignite holds an annual ceremony to recognize these companies and present awards in several categories.

On February 22nd, 2024, Ignite honored the leading emerging companies in the Spokane region at the 25+5 Awards. The event highlighted the top 30 startups in the area and featured a keynote speech by Scott Wetzel, CEO of Windermere Services Mountain West and Windermere Real Estate.

2023


Ignite celebrated the top emerging companies in the Spokane region on March 1st, 2023 at the 25+5 Awards. The program recognized the top 30 startups in the Spokane region and include a keynote by Kate Hudson, Public Relations Manager for Visit Spokane.

Ignite celebrated the most compelling emerging companies in the Spokane region at the Ignite 25+5 Awards on February 23rd, 2022! The award program included a keynote by Steve MacDonald, Director of Economic Development for the City of Spokane and awards for Best New B2B, Best New B2C, Most Socially Impactful, Loftiest Ambitions and Most Likely to Achieve $100 Million in Revenues Within 5 Years.

Ignite and the Spokane Journal of Business celebrated the most radical, creative and fast growing companies at the 25+5 Awards on February 18th, 2021. Tyler Lafferty, the keynote speaker, talked about the importance of Healthy Startups, Strong Economy.

2020


Ignite's CEO Tom Simpson created the 25+5 to promote the incredible diversity of compelling emerging companies located in the Spokane / Coeur d'Alene / Sandpoint region. Companies highlighted in 2020 included: Spiceology, the fastest growing spice company in the nation; Continuous Composites, creating everything from skateboards to airplane wings; and Kochava, delivering complex omni-channel marketing solutions.
